DB Info for when you're out and about

We are expanding the familiar DB Information service into the digital sphere: bahnhof.de is being developed into a provider-neutral platform, which will be available in future as both a website and an app

Key points in a nutshell

On 17 November 2026, bahnhof.de will become DB Info – available online and as an app for Android and iOS. As usual, you will receive real-time information about your journey, particularly regarding accessibility. This information is provided independently of the relevant rail operator and location, and is particularly relevant in the event of operational disruptions or last-minute engineering works.

Why bahnhof.de is changing to DB Info

The Federal Ministry of Transport’s ‘Agenda to Boost Rail Customer Satisfaction’ envisages a provider-neutral and non-discriminatory digital application for customer communication. For this reason, work has been underway since the start of 2026 to develop bahnhof.de into DB Info, which is now due to be launched on 17 November 2026.

And why DB Info?

At many stations, there is a place where you can get help: the DB Information desk. That is where the name comes from: DB Info refers to the familiar information point at the station. This makes the familiar support provided by DB Information accessible to everyone, even at small stations where there is no in-person service available on site.

What exactly is changing?

DB Info will be available as an app and on the web from 17 November 2026.

Please note: For technical reasons, the bahnhof.de web app’s favorites feature will unfortunately no longer be available starting in mid-November. The favorites feature will, of course, be available again in the new DB Info app for Android and iOS. However, you’ll need to reset your favorites for stations and elevators initially. You’ll also find details of shops, places to eat, opening hours and information about the area around the station. This means you can plan your journey as usual, keep an eye on the latest updates and arrive at your destination well-informed.
