Immediately available

Button ‘Journey information’ is pressed

In the departure board of each station (click on ‘Live departure / arrival’), travel information is available next to each departure. If available, the coach sequence opens up directly.

The journey progress can be accessed at the bottom of the navigation. If no carriage order is available, the journey progress is displayed directly.

Presentation

For quick orientation, departure times and stop information are in focus. We differentiate here:

  • Examples
Skip teaser area
  • A journey on bahnhof.de; the current station is marked
Your current station is highlighted with a position marker in the circle on the right. This is the station from whose departure board you opened the journey progress. Stops already departed are greyed out, stops yet to be visited are shown with higher contrast.
  • A journey on bahnhof.de; the current station is marked
Especially at the first or last stations of long-distance trains, boarding or alighting is not permitted, as urban traffic is preferred via regional, S or U-Bahn trains, trams and buses.
  • A journey on bahnhof.de; one stop is labelled ‘only on request’
At this stop, a halt is only made upon travellers’ request, if they have pressed the stop request button during the train journey or if there are travellers at the stop wishing to board.

Deviations

The design of deviations is strongly oriented towards the logics known from train destination displays: deviations are inverted – thus white instead of blue background.

  • Examples
Skip teaser area
  • A journey on bahnhof.de; one departure is shown as delayed
As on the departure board of bahnhof.de as well as the monitors at the station, delays are inverted. The originally planned departure time is struck through on a blue background and added.
  • A journey on bahnhof.de; a stop is shown as cancelled
Cancelled stops are prominently highlighted. This is complemented by the familiar pictogram from train destination displays. Additional stops are shown only very discreetly.
  • A journey on bahnhof.de; the last stops are shown as cancellations
In the case of unscheduled journey endings, the entire width is highlighted in white. This allows you to instantly see that all further stops are cancelled – without scrolling to the end.

Screenreader support

Like all functions on bahnhof.de, the journey information has been especially optimised for the use of screen readers. Thus, visually impaired travellers can, for example, directly skip all already departed stops instead of having them all read to them.
