A Christmas market with a difference: Roncalli and the shopping stations invite you to a magical visit to the Hanover Christmas Village. From 23 November 2026 on Ernst-August-Platz, right in front of the main station.

Straight out of a fairy tale: the Christmas village at Hanover Central Station
Copy link to this sectionFor the fourth time, the creative team at Roncalli Traumfabrik is creating a fairytale Christmas village on the forecourt of Hanover Central Station. Months of planning, organising and building have gone into it: you can now look forward to around 50 vendors offering fine food, delicious drinks and creative gift ideas. The various huts are inspired by Lower Saxony’s half-timbered architecture, creating a particularly cosy atmosphere. In the Christmas village, you’ll meet a variety of craftspeople who not only exhibit their work but also invite you to watch them at work. For traders and craftspeople from Hanover and the surrounding region, Roncalli is providing a stall with different operators each week. The aim is to give small workshops, start-ups and creative enterprises the opportunity to showcase their work to a wide audience.

- Roncalli’s Restaurant Tent: With its nostalgic atmosphere, this restaurant and café invites you to linger and enjoy yourself. Whether it’s beef roulade or pumpkin ravioli – bookings can be made for private events or for groups of up to 180 people.
- Three times a day, the façade of the main railway station is bathed in a very special light. The illumination tells a unique Christmas story. It starts at 5.00 pm, 6.30 pm and 8.00 pm each day.
- Brass band: Every weekend, a brass ensemble provides additional festive musical entertainment at the Hannover Christmas Village.
- Expierience a beautiful winter Christmas landscape on a virtual ride in a reindeer sleigh - a truly special treat for young and old alike.
