At the mouth of the Elbe into the North Sea, Cuxhaven in the north of Lower Saxony attracts visitors with its beautiful beaches. These are ideal for exploring by bike. Duhnen beach, for example, is only five and a half kilometres (around 20 minutes) away from a bike hire station in Cuxhaven. There is a choice of seven hire stations between 600 metres and eight kilometres from the station.
