In order to improve accessibility at Hamburg-Bergedorf station, construction work on the lift system at the bus station (ZOB) will take place from 29 January 2024 until probably September 2024. As part of the conversion, the existing lift at the site will be replaced. A second additional lift will also be installed. As a result, restrictions for passengers and visitors with reduced mobility are to be expected on site.
As part of the construction work, the existing lift system at the bus station (ZOB) will be dismantled first. In addition, the entire lift technology will be replaced. The two new systems will then be installed in the existing shaft scaffolding. Following successful acceptance, the lifts are expected to go into operation in September 2024.
Due to the construction work, restrictions are to be expected on site. However, people with limited mobility can still reach the station platforms without steps via the "Lohbrügge" entrance. Please take the changed routing and the resulting longer travelling times into account when planning a journey or a stay at the station.
The bus station, on the other hand, is not accessible for travellers and visitors with reduced mobility during the construction period. Persons who are scheduled to arrive or depart from the bus station are requested to inform themselves in advance about alternative travel options.
