Lifts at stations

Our goals are minimising outages and getting lifts and escalators at our stations up and running following a fault.

DB Station&Service AG is working to enhance the availability of lifts and escalators while also actively informing customers about faults with these facilities.

The system works as follows: lifts and escalators have control systems featuring components that constantly record information about the condition of these facilities in real time. The components use a modem to forward this information to the relevant station operation centres. Thanks to this data, repair staff can respond quickly in the event of a fault, which means that lifts and escalators are out of service for less time.

Travellers can check online to see if lifts are in operation. This page provides an overview of lifts that are currently out of service. We also post this information live on the relevant station websites and on our DB Bahnhof app.
